Brian Jackson College of Open Learning

Brian Jackson college of Open Learning (formerly project cool) is an Independent School for young people aged 14-16.

BJ COOL aims to meet the needs of students who have struggled in schools and may have Social, Emotional and Behavioural difficulties. These difficulties may have led to the students becoming disengaged with the education system and needing an alternative approach to motivate them to re-engage with their education and learning.

Every Child Matters

As part of their study at BJCOOL students are required to undertake a range of activities including working on ICT skills, Numeracy and

literacy skills, life skills, PSHCE, Art and Design and Science. BJ COOL also promotes a healthy life style by encouraging students to take part in sports and leisure activities.

BJ COOL meets the 5 Every Child matters outcomes by encouraging the students to

*Stay Safe * Be Healthy * Enjoy and achieve *Make a positive Contribution *Achieve economic well being
