College of open Learning (formerly Project COOL)
is an Independent School for year 10-11 students that aims to meet the needs of
young people (14-16 Yrs) who have become disengaged with education or are experiencing
difficulties with mainstream education.
It is intended to encourage opportunity for future employment and quality of life.
BJ COOL students are encouraged to undertake a range of activities including working
on IT skills, numeracy and literacy, life skills and creative workshops BJ COOL
also motivates students to take part in sports and leisure activities to promote
a healthy lifestyle.
Additionally BJ COOL enables young people to study through the AQA UNIT AWARD
SCHEME route of accreditation. This recognises individual achievement at stages
throughout the student's time at BJ COOL
